I just peeled off all the foam from under my hood and I am looking for some feedback on using DEI Shield to protect the hood or Just using heat tape. I am a little nervous about just heat taping it because I had some melting issues when my front vents got plugged on a heavy powder day.

I'm also installing some vents in the top of the hood so hopefully It doesn't get so hot it melts things again.

I've used the DEI shield on the chaincase covers and the hood... a bit bulky on the hood but fits fine and protects well

I prefer the high tech insulation from

This stuff is the real deal... Ran it last year on my sled and again on my new sled....

The real deal that others try to do cheap knock-offs of that look similar but are no where near the same category.

Aluminum "heat tape" is better than nothing... but not in the same category as the full blown specialty barriers.

Good luck.
