Does anyone know what degrees the Shockwave for arctic start at, turned in fully. with straight ramps, and with the progressive ramps?

A little shockwave thearpy

Hey, so if you have already bought a shockwave your a sucker like me. If you havent then dont.

I have both the straight and the two stage helix. I was told when I bought them also when reading articles about them that when you turned one full 360 rotation that there was 4 degrees of change. I then spent months testing with them and that wasnt the case.. after talking to shockwave directly he informed me that its actually only 3 degrees but they said 4 because it was easier for people to understand... quarter turn .. balh blah blah blah blahhhh. And then I found out that the straight wound all the way in is actually only 42 degrees.. no good. So everything I had been working with and ordering was out the door.

As for the two stage, the angle change was really harsh ... wasnt smooth.. the start rate for that is still unknown, somewhere around 38/34. with 16 degrees of change. one thing i found is that the arms become loose and flex and with about 500 kms the arms moved so much that it was noticable that my sled wasnt shifting correctly anymore.

I have no issue with Shockwave, I wouldnt run their helixs again. it was an interesting experiment but wasnt worth the cost. The helixs were expensive investment with little to no return. I have both used helixs forsale if anyone wants them cheap. PM me.

To each their own. just my .02

I believe the range is 42 to 54. I used one last year but I think even all the way in at 42 is too steep for top end of a stock 800. IMO. I m trying a 42/36 Dalton right now.

Hm, is it 38 or 42!? kinda big difference. I've bought it but haven't received it yet. Sounds no good what johnsdevil tells about the sloppiness in the arms after just 500km!? I ordered it with straight ramps, so will try it with those first. I have a m7000 mcx 190, so I think I could get away with 42 degrees and up. I'll see how it holds up, may be an expensive way to find out a good angle to use... Heard good things about both dalton helixes and Hercules, may go to some of those when I know which angle to use.
Bikeman helix with the torsional, does it work good? Like to be able to adjust a little after conditions.

I got a 42/36 cut from BDX and it is great smoother out of the hole and holds better RPM on the top and I think it was like 85 dollars clutch temps went down as well.
