Deer gun opener and can't leave town

Season finally opens today and all of the gates are closed heading out of town - on the highways anyway.:mad: Guess we'll have to resort to plan B and just drive around them on the snow and ice. The roads are pretty crappy, but not bad enough to stop hunting.

We got about 10 inches of snow yesterday (that started as ice). The upside is I got to take the M8 out for a quick spin last night for "testing purposes". Hope the mtns get pounded soon. I need a trip.

I hear ya, at least you can get out of your driveway, still have about a good 3-4 hours with the snowblower before getting to the street, wind whipped a 5 foot drift all the way across....

10 inches of snow and the roads are closed? We had over 2 feet a few weeks ago and it didn't even slow us down:D

No kidding, I'm waiting for the interstate to open back up so I can head home to shoot some pheasants and hopefully stick an arrow in a deer before rifle season opens up next weekend.

Sh*t, we get 2 inches and it's the storm of the century(according to most news stations) and things come to a grinding halt. What has happened to Minnesotan's???????????

Don Knotts...that's funny........we had snow showers here for the day, I'm surprised that the plow trucks weren't out.....half the time there throwing more sparks then they are snow....

The biggest reason they are so quick to close roads is how stupid people in general have become. For anyone with half a brain, they are passable if you drive a reasonable speed for the conditions. But no, everyone thinks they're Rick Mears or Danicka Patrick with their all-wheel-drive whatever and get themselves in trouble, then take someone else out at the same time.

Yep, I-90 would have been open hours ago if it wasn't for the 200 vehicles stuck between Rapid and Mitchell that have to be moved to plow...
