December Riding

Was wondering where is usually the best place for December riding? Is Cooke or the Big Horns any good? Then are the only 2 places that I have been to. Thanks

Well it all depends on the snow, cooke is always good and so are the big horns. Togowotee is also a good spot but is alittle pricy. Check the snow conditions of where you want to go and then decide. Hope this helps.

hard to say until the snow falls. I ride in lots of places all over MT, its crazy how different they can be early season. even local places that are all very close go from mostly dirt to DEEP fresh just down the same valley.

Depends on the snow.....my dad and our riding buddies made a trip to cooke city this season in january (i couldnt attend because of some missing assignments issues) and he said when they first got there that they had about 2ft of powder but the rest of there 3 days they didnt get touched with snow at all. Also, be careful what your riding on he said they accidentaly stopped on a giant slash pile and they started falling inbetween trees. And another time my friend don was on his ski doo rt-1000 (nickname.....the sherman tank) and he hit a piece of mining equipment and bent his bulkhead. But needless to say they said it was awesome, we are making another trip to cooke sometime in december or january next season, and maybe mcall idaho for some spring hillclimbing. does anyone know how elko nevada is?
