Dealer Service, Hows Yours?

I have a 2008 dragon 700 that has a RPM limit issue that I can Not solve, I gave up and took the sled in for service at MY LOCAL POLARIS DEALER. This is what I was told that was wrong. Tps voltage was off base line. Was at .75 Volts and needed to be at .69-.71 and airflow was at .93 and needed to be at.94-.96 and that I needed a NEW Belt. I then paid the $371.45 and was glad to get my sled back. On Today's test ride the sled acted exactly the same as before I took it in. Except now it idles at 2500 rpms and back fires when it goes into reverse. I called the Tech and he said it still needed those items and I would need to bring it back. I asked for a refund he passed me to the General Manager. He said come in and get your refund. When I got there he came out and seemed very upset. He took my invoice and said he was only refunding me $149.00 for labor and no refund for parts, I explained the tech told me I needed the parts and I approved them, I explained I approved them because the tech said that was part of my issues. I tried to talk to the G.M. in a professional manor he would not listen and kept saying do you want the labor Money or nothing? I tried to talk again he took the invoice and stuck it in my jacket pocket. I said I have been buying parts here for years he explained not any more and asked me to leave, I said I was not leaving Soo he called the Police and told me I was going to be arrested for trespassing. I waited for the Police then explained what transpired, he went inside and they already had a check with my name waiting (labor Only)Hows your polaris customer service?

Apparently diagnosing issues with the pro is difficult. My dealer orders one new component per week at the recommendation of a Polaris Technician. Four component swaps means your down for a month.

Wow the cops were called. I have never heard of such a thing, are you sure there is not more to the story than you mentioned.:face-icon-small-con

I totally understand where you are coming from but also see why labor was only refunded. I do find fault that most likely the tech didn't put the sled up on a stand and start it to run through the RPM range and reverse. My dealer was nice enough to toss on a part to see if it was what was actually wrong before I bought it. My guess is they also have a "No refund" policy on parts.

Now the belt should have been a matter of opinion. If the belt looked ok to you, then it shouldn't have been agreed upon.

Without knowing both sides, I would say the GM went overboard.

So long story short, my dealer is great to work with.

Rest of the story

I work a customer service job daily actually the last twenty five years.I have been trained and know customer service. As I said I was professional and understanding. Every time (twice) I would bring up the question on parts the GM would say do you want any money or none? and would not even discuss. the refund was already determined and it was his way or No way. The reason or the rest of the story as it was stated is that I wanted to talk, they did not want to talk. Any way the next time any body is in Couer D Alene Idaho I would Travel past the close Polaris Dealer and go to the next one. The Police officer stated this type of transaction happens ALLOT and un fortunately that is why there is civil court. I do understand the Part issue. but I went to a trained Polaris Dealer/tech and followed what they told me needed to be done it did not solve anything and I am out the money.

So far , good with mine, have an 01 700 took it in for some issues they fixed it for free. My 2010 700 needed a voltage reg told me it would be two weeks had it done in a week!
