Dead Rhino, any ideas?

My 06 Rhino 660 just died like I'd shut the key off. I've got gas, put in a new plug, pulled the fuel line off at the carb and it shoots fuel when I crank it. I'll figure out a way to get it on the trailer tomorrow unless someone knows what it might be. I dread hauling it in because I'll have to call them every day for a month to get it fixed.

If it's got fuel, just check air and spark ... it's got to be one of those three. Sounds like fuel issue to me, since it died suddenly ... try pulling the carb off and cleaning up the internals. It might just have got some gunk in the pilot jet. Did you use some fuel treatment before putting it away for the winter?

Go over to Rhinoforums.net and got to the engines section of the forum. At the top of the page is the manual available for download. You can then check the usual suspects, ignition etc.

Thanks for the service manual download tip

Always looking for free manuals for my shop

Thanks guys, rhinoforum is a very cool place. I'll download that manual for sure!

I would like to help out, but I haven't worked on one for 6 months and that was for an axle boot

I would start at the fuses, battery connections, stator and pulser tests, then coil and ignition connections and ohms. Also ohm out the spark plug cap 5000 plus or minus 1000 is standard resistance of them

Thanks, I'll run those and tests and if it doesn't work out I'll use the whale treatment and buy a mule.;)

Well, it was the stator. If anyone gets stranded out in the boonies because of your bad stator, you can disconnect the rectifier down by the dipstick and it will run again until the battery goes dead. I've got a deep cycle in mine for the winch so I'm going to run mine this weekend while I wait for a new stator. Thanks for the help everyone.
