I got this sled new last July and put 38 hours on it last winter, do i need to change the DD oil? Or when shoul that be done? Anything else i need to check besdides the normal sled things? This is my first M so im not sure if there is any other common things that fail on them in a season. Thanks guys.

It's alot cheaper to change the dd fluid than the whole diamond drive. I'd change it, its a pretty easy job.

I would suggest that you pull off the driven clutch and take the cover off the Diamond Drive to service it. Its not hard at all, you can wipe out the excess oil while you inspecting the bearings. I lost a bearing at 1000 miles on my 09, didnt do any damage as i caught it just in time. I will pull the cover at least every 500 miles now and check the bearings. The 09 uses more oil than previous years,
( 15 ounces ). Hope this helps you out.

I think that was solid advise !:)

alright thanks guys. my sled has been covered since march and i never really looked, is there a drain somewhere in the belly pan for the DD oil or do i need to drill one somewhere? I know with the old ZR chassis when changing gears there was no hole for oil to drain out so i had to make one.

When i have the cover off what should i inspect? just the bearings and look for abnormal gear wear?

Thanks again
