Cyclops Motorsports is working on DC conversions for sleds.
DC conversions will allow sleds to run HID lights and other dc powered accs
The kits will be model specific as they will require the customer to float the ground on the stator or send there stator in for that to be done.
Some newer sleds with batteries already have DC power.
Heres the Q. are you interested in such a kit? and what sled's do you ride?
We should have kits available by oct.
Thanks

dont forget the cost of a new stator or re wind because the extra eqipment is over taxing the stator and it fries....
alot of sled stators output have trouble keeping up w/ extra gauges and bigger fuel pumps and will eventually lead to a stator failing.i would think the draw for hid lights would also over tax the stator.but ive been wrong before.

The dc kits your referring to are not full wave and will not support Any lighting or heavy use. Basically, they might charge your cell phone and other low powered devices.
Im talking full on DC power. This would allow HID lighting, also your lights will work with the sled motor turned off. And the ability to run dc powered accs.
HID lights draw less power than Hal. These mods will not destroy your stator.
Were also adding a reg/rec. So your overall elect system is more stable.
This is very common to the dirt bike world, we mod bikes all the time.
If someone is happy with their stock lighting theres really no need for the dc conversion, But if you want HID and have an AC sled theres no other way.
