You don't have to pick for every race, once you pick your team it will stay the same unless you go in and change a driver for a specific track.

There are three segments to this game. After each segment your team will be reset and you will have to pick again. The segments go by weeks I think there is 12 or so in the first segment and second then 10 in the last one or something like that.
