Dash not reading mph correctly

So I have a 2012 rmk assault, finally got to put on a few miles last night before I head west in a couple weeks and noticed putting around my yard I'd be doing 45 mph then I get out to a bean field and just cruise and it was at zero for a while then it said 145mph it was all over, then I reset the trip meter and wow I think it tacked on an extra 100 miles too. Need help guys!... It does have the new belt drive, I wonder if that messed it up, never rode it without the belt drive

When you put in the new belt drive did you move the speed sensor from the drive shaft up to the brake rotor? If so your speedo will read wrong because the sensor pickup is different on between the two. The only way to fix it is to move the speed sensor back dowm to the driveshaft like it would be on a stock 12 assault. Hope this helps

Actually the dealer put it on before I bought it... So I have no idea... Bought it from AMS in kremling co, was gonna get ahold of them tomorrow. Possibly talk to Erik about it

I would hope they can re-flash the correct ratio in the ECU. But if it was all over like you say, it is more than that. May be a bad or dirty sensor? If they reused the sensor from the '12? As the sensors have not changed.

Let us know what you find out, I'm doing a custom belt drive with custom gear ratios so I will need to know how to re-set the ratio if possible.

Exactly correct!

Called alpine Motorsports and the guys there said they have had a couple issues like that after installing the quick drive on sleds that didn't have them... Basically it just won't read correctly, I'm guessing yes the ecu has to be reflashed but they said put it back on the driveshaft and it should be fine...
