I noticed that the first time it switched over it was a cold morning at the cabin it also has ES (snowcheck option) if that might make a differance since it has a battery. I'm not sure if the screen color means anything , but , I thought when I was able to switch it that the red screen only came on in metric and the blue was in standard ? maybe not since now you can change the colors but not the analog. There was no need to switch it to metric and I paid enough attention to it that when it was shut off in standard and than restarted it was in metric . I was able to switch it back just a couple of times before it stuck on metric .
