Dan's Weekly Whistlin' Jacks Report

how is the riding there? im wanting to come over there this weekned, but need to know if its even worth coming?

There's still snow, just less of it....Any new this week never came much further east than say Stampede and Gallagher. A lot of rain last Sunday took out snow at lower elevations....Groomers are out and doing a good job where there is enough snow. Been wrenching this week myself, be back out by Sunday......Have fun...

8:30 on a Thurs nite - Dan's probably washing Prime Rib down with a cold one right now???????

Exactly!! Just wanted to get it posted this evening. Thought he might get on SW when he gets back, that way we can all see on Friday mornings and make plans for the weekend. Make sense now?

We did a GW to WJL ride last Saturday via Lilly Pond and Manatash Ridge. Came back via "Ice Hill" (bring your ski chains). Nice groomed trails like Dan said.

Bob, you got that motor back together yet?

Ken - Have the new crank in (run-out is under .001), motor when back in the sled last night w/o one cylinder/piston. Be bleeding oil pump and adding pre-mix today. New cylinder and piston was shipped from Idaho yesterday. Will ride the 700 on the club ride this Sunday and hope to have the 800 going the 1st of next week....CU Sunday?

Bob,
We are headed up to Darrel's cabin in Plain in a few minutes. We'll be riding out of there tomorrow if you are interested.

We will ride either Blewett or the club ride Sunday, not sure which right now.

A group of nine of us went tho WJL via Greenwater last night, had a fun ride. We parked up at mikes rock, whach out its slick getting turned around. Suprised how much snow on top, more than I would have thought. Gets thin in quite a few spots from little naches road to WJL, but definately duable. Ice hill was icy but had enough bare spots to slow you down. Had fun just bring your scratchers!

Dan, where are you???

Did he not make it back??? Do we have to send out a search party??? LOL

Sorry got busy,

I didnt ride thursday as we had a "media / newby " ride yesterday up at stampede, nice day, good trails nothing to exciting, most were with people who have never been on a sled, A buddy of mine Scott who works for KZOK, KMPS and others took Erik and his wife from the bob rivers show out for a short cruise on the sleds. they did good and had a nice time, Both are avid skiers so they got a "taste" of our side. I also rode with roger the groomer on the nachess side yesterday, as most of you know by now you can still get to jacks, there are a few bare spots the last mile so but nothing real bad, the ice hills are not as bad as people make them out, just be smart, move back and forth and look for traction !! going down just pointer down and go, dont try and go slow and lock the track up, it's a clean shot, !!

A group of 12 of us rode from cle elum to wj on our yearly trip last saterday the 16. Ill have to say we had alot less snow this year than last or years before. But that being said it was the most hassle free trip yet, the ice shoots were fine, and no one even got stuck. Devels slide was fine, the only this was one sled melted his hyfax on the way over. We had snow the whole way there and back, Awsome ride.
