However most every Sunday she is finishing ahead of a dozen men, often more than that.
How many other female professional athletes can say that?

Had to laugh when the first article said one of Nascar most famous drivers. She gets more TV coverage in the back of the pack then the leaders do in the front. That doesn't make you famous in the sport of racing Why does she get so much coverage? she is what most people would consider an attractive Female athlete racing in a series that is considered by most as redneck racing. The only time she won in Indy Cars was on a gas mileage race where most of the front runners ran out of gas. So Mafesto there is your fluke. That race was won in pit strategy not on driver talent. There are quite a few female racers you never hear about that have way better records then Danica P. in several different racing series. The only problem is that they are not what the marketing people consider sexy so they are completely ignored. I saw one race at the beginning of Danica's career in a feeder series to Nascar where there was a female running in second place and Danica was running at the back of the back. who were the commentators concentrating on you guessed it Danica in the back of course and not the other female in the race that was actually running up front. Unfortunately you have to be in it to win it and the other female was taken out in a wreck at the front of the pack.

So why are people dogging on the handful of guys that she actually beats ever Sunday?

People talk smack like she is a "no talent", well I applaud the attention she has brought to the sport.

I stand by my comment that she could outdrive anyone on this forum.

You are Right Mafesto. Anyone at that level of motorsport has more talent and car control them most other people on the planet that is the reason why they are where they are. Top professionals make it look so easy. After all they are just sitting there turning the wheel and stepping on the gas petal??. All you need to do is buy a Polaris to ride like Chris Burandt or a Doo to ride like Bret Rasmusson too right?
I refer to Nascar and Corporate racing because it is a business driven by advertising dollars. The more air time you give the sponger's name the more money they will give you to race. The more money you have to race the better personal and equipment you can afford to use. Every square inch of the car is rent-able space on a cup car. The difference in cost for your compnay's name on the back quarter panel vs. the hood is huge dollars. That goes for the driving suites as well. Danica P. is able to generate a huge amount of air time for any of her sponsors so she is able to use the best equipment and higher great experienced crew members. Mostly from the fact that she is very attractive not from her ability to drive. I an not saying she doesn't have talent though. She is able to put herself in the best equipment but her abilty to drive is were she ran for most of her professional career and that is mid pack.
The king Richard/kyle Petty got in hot water last year for saying that she was not a true racer but a marketing machine. I believe that is true but it was made out to be a very sexiest thing to say by the media becasue she is a wonan in a male dominated sport There is nothing wrong with being an average driver in Nascar. I think that a lot of critics don't like the fact that she gets more air time then some of the truly gifted drivers solely on the basis of her looks. and there are way better drivers out there that are running in the back of the pack because they don't have the cash resources to afford the equipment you need to run up front.
