D and D racing can gets hot!

Anyone have a problem with excessive heat? It started to melt the plastic on the side panel

A lot of us have wrapped our exhausts with header tape to help get rid of the heat.

They all get very hot. Need to keep them away from p,artic and use heat tape and header wrap.

wrap

is there any reason not to wrap the muffler i see alot of guys wrapping the header & the pipe to the muffler but not the muffler , mine gets hot so would it be ok to do the muffler also ?

Last year I made my on can and noticed the heat, so I wrapped that. Now this year I wrapped everything.

Do you have a aftermarket can?

it is a bmp muffler that on it , it runs really hot i will wrap that at the same time as i wrap the header
thanks

Wrap the down pipe, header and muffler. The muffler may get very hot because of the packing or lack there of. Otherwise the muffler section of the muffler should not get as hot as the exhaust tubing.
