Cyclops 600 Light Issue

I have the 600 series light mounted on a 2014 KTM 500 XCW. It worked perfectly for the first few rides and still does when the bike is just sitting and idling but as soon as I take off the light flickers and more times than not shuts off completely. I haven't had any major wrecks or damaged the light itself but the plastic switch and mount did not last long. I installed a new switch, but the issue started before the new one was installed. All the wiring is in tact and grounded as per the instructions. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Hmmm. that's a interesting first post. Something sounds a bit strange.
Why wouldn't you call Cyclops and see what they say about it? That would be the smart thing to do.
It doesn't sound like a switch issue, I don't know of a better handle bar mounted switch made.
I have yet to see a failure, sounds like a bad ground to me. What happened to the mount?
can you post a photo?

If the bars on the 500 are rubber damped they would not have a good ground path.

we've also seen excess grease in the head stock cause issues with the triple tree ground, rare but it has happened.
One thing for sure is that Cyclops cares about their customers, whether that's 6 months or 6 years after the sale.

Thanks guys. I was looking through the threads seeing if there was any info on my problem before calling. It was a bit of a mystery and I didn't want to call with something that is more than likely a non issue. I posted the question mainly because I happened to be on the site and it was convenient.

Anyway... I think I got it figured. I think/ hope that due to the vibration of the bike, the wire and connector may have come loose. Sounds crazy but I put on a new connector and it seems to be good. Took it for a ride and although I can't tell if it is flickering off and on in the day time it was still on every time I stopped and looked so that is a major improvement.

I will give it a go tonight, and if it hasn't improved I will give the supplier a call.

Thanks again.

If yourself or anyone else has any issues with a Cyclops product we want to know about it.
It would always be wise to consult the manufacture or vendor prior to posting on a public forum that you have "issues" with someone's product, That's just proper forum etiquette. Give the vendor the feedback they need to make a better product as well as the opportunity to make it right.
I honestly thought you were another supplier attempting to tarnish the name we have worked hard to develop. It wouldn't have been the first time.
On another note we have changed the mount to SS instead of Alu . Let me know if you need a replacement, but then. I have never seen the alu version break. Nor have we seen any switch issues???

The only small problem I have had with the switch is from all the wet and cold conditions of a snow bike the switch will start to get hard to switch back and forth. I simply soak the inside of it down with WD40.

I have had many of these light on our demo bikes and my personal bikes and have never had a problem with any thing. They are no doubt the best light on the market. They have truly made my riding experiences better. Darrel thanks for building a grate product.

No problem with the mount itself, but the switch did break when the bike went over. There was lots of snow but the top 6" was a bit crusty and the plastic switch mount did not hold up. No big deal it was an easy fix. Other wise I love the light. I wasn't trying to knock the product just looking for advise.
