Cutting tree from church park?

I was looking at taking the family up next weekend to cut a christmas tree and was wondering does anyone know is it legal from church park? Looking at the map from the forest service it looks like its in the legal area. I don't want to go to the elk creek area, what a zoo there. I was going to stop in at the chamber and get a permit I guess I can ask there also.

not sure if it is legal but when we were riding there Friday, there were lots of people carrying out trees! We saw at least 12 trees hauled out of there at lunch and there was 4 more hauled out near dark.

The people we & that hillbilly guy saw had a seven $$ permit from the forest circus. Not sure where you get them, but one guy said that CP was where he was told or suggested to go.

Don't know about you, but I always cut my Christmas trees down from the lanscaped round-a-bouts in the Vail Valley. Nice, perfect shaped trees.

yea that ford just didn't want to move in the snow! well to give the truck credit when the 4X4 was kicked in it went good

either way it was allot better than my truck getting stuck!!
oh yea i wound up leaving my shovel in the his trailer!

You should go to the local ranger station and buy your tag. They also have certain areas where you can cut them down. They will give you a map while you are there. I don't know what the fine would be if you got caught.

Make sure to cut a big one down, then lop the top off of it. They are so much nicer that way and you did your part to help thin the forest.

I like the Vail round about trees as well, people always throw free Starbucks cups at me as they go by, win win!!

You guys are really going to the epicenter of the pine beetle infestation and going to cut down more trees? Wow no wonder the government has to over-regulate every body. No common sence. Next tree I see on top of a volvo going over Berthoud is going in the ditch.
