Cutting a hole in a diamond s hood

Has anyone cut a hole in a diamond s hood for a turbo intake. Does the fabric loosen much? Just looking for ideas before I cut the hole.

If I were going to do it, I'd make a couple reinforcing rings and bolt/rivet through the hood, then cut the fabric out of the middle.

x2...and possibly glue/epoxy the rings as well with the above
