what do you mountain guys use for really long snowflaps and whats the advantage/disadvantages?

The reason why they use a long flap is to kick snow back into the tunnel for cooling down the heat exchangers...
yeah i have an 04 xr 440 with a 660 carls motor and the flap has an extension built into it but the flap cant take the stress and rips on the seam. are the iq racers long?

I use conveyor (sp) belt for mine, cheap and works great. About 5$ for 3 feet.

Long flaps in the mtns.
I use mine for standing on when I am stuck or backing up onto and bending something. That and trashing ice scratchers are my favorite things to do in reverse. Just kiddin
I have no use for a long flap. I considered one when I turned the track around on the King Cat but then realized that was all BEHIND me, If they did'nt like it they could try to pass!
the short ones they use on A/C reverse model sleds are about right.
I use the shortest one I can and still get snow under the tunnel or sometimes not at all . I recently bought a flame cut snow flap for the wifey's sled makes her look "racy" and I like that in a gal.

I cut mine down on my M's to about 2 1/2 inches. Just the part that says ARCTIC CAT. Then I use two small screws and attatch it to the plastic mount. It looks good. We usually ride in good enough snow that we don't have to worry about holding more snow for the cooler. I like this because I believe that a longer flap restricts snow from exiting. With a long flap, you are forcing the track to pull that much more snow up under and through the tunnel.
anybody have pics of some different setups?
I'm having a problem with my flaps where the flap gets caught in the track. It's pushed into the tunnel and the bottom drags on the track. Is the flap too long or too short?
I thought you liked the guys, you are always staring at my asz when you are behind me LOL

Anyone have a website to buy snoflaps? I have two labs and my flap always suffers from the "mod dogs"
