Custom Log Home

Here's the latest house that my father just build. 12,000 sq. ft. of living space. 11' basement walls. About 10ish bedrooms. 7ish bathrooms. 53 Exterior corners. Over $1,000 worth of interior door knobs. $15,000 worth of recessed light fixtures. All that and this isn't even the owners house. It is his hunting cabin in West Branch, Michigan. My father has a crew of 6 including myself when I am not at college. We dropped the trees in Oct. of 08 and should be finishing up this month. Landscaping in not finished yet either by the way. Let me know what you think!

very nice hunting CABIN!!!!!!!!!!! and holy cow, that's a lot of wood panelling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

HO---LEEEE---SH---IT.

I'd be concerned about walking into walls, everything runs together in some of those rooms it's almost like a mirror. Too much wood, IMO.

Other than that... VERY NICE. Looks more like a hunting Lodge than a Cabin.

Someone in MI must be coming out of the recession...;)

Yea, a little overload on the T/G. But we build to what they want, not to what we like. Personally I would have went with a darker stain on the interior logs. The owner wanted perfect un flawed logs. No nicks, no color changes. You wouldn't believe how many hours we had into PALM sanding every square inch of the logs inside and out! Along with the chinking in between the logs. That is laid down with a machine then it is tooled smooth then it is followed with a 1" brush and is brushed to give it some texture. Had over 100 5gal pales of that stuff!
