Curious, summer question.

After riding the bike in the snow with a timbersled kit, does riding the bike in the dirt loose a lot of its former glory?

I'm asking because I have not done much "dirt" bike riding.

If you have ever spent the day on roller skates, than put your casual shoes back on, it feels alot like that on the bike with the kit off ,no problems except the rock and dirt chaffes more on tip overs

Snowbiking has reinvigorated my love for dirt biking. It's nice to have an all year machine. Although I'm starting to like dirt biking so much that I think I need a dedicated woods machine and stop doing the switch over.

I'll just have the ask the box my balls are in under my wife's pillow if it's OK to buy another bike. I'm thinking flowers, dinner, a bottle of wine, and then I'll ask on the way home.

True words right there! I'm in same boat, want a dedicated winter machine but will be tough to convince the wife when my 'cheap sport' starts to become as expensive as my former 'expensive sport' (car racing).

In any event, I find by month 6, I am looking forward to getting back on dirt and by the end of dirt season I am looking forward to getting back on snow.

For sure. The dirt and rocks are not as soft as landing (crashing) in the snow.

Hmmm, something to ponder. In the past I have done a lot of snowmobiling and in the summer atvs riding. Always preferred the snowmobiling over riding atvs. But, I have not done much motor biking in the summer.

as much as i love snow, something about the power of a 450 ripping a knobbie through fresh spring dirt, man it puts a smile on my face. glad I have two bikes so i can ride both in the spring when down low is melted and up high is snow. I know the first time the certain hills around town melt off and its muddy and got drifts on it, im the first one up on a bike, I just want to ride everything all the time!! nothing is more or less fun, just different styles!

it makes me appreciate how insanely nimble even a 450 is when the wheels are on it!!

Same here love them both but can not wait to be on wheels in the spring -- in the fall I run studs once the ground freezes to reduce the time where I need to wait for enough snow to go snow biking -- there is always a few weeks wait before there is enough snow for it to be save .
In the spring I ride my trails bike for a while down low while there still is enough snow up high for snow biking. But I may just need to bite the bullet and get a dedicated summer bike for the tight stuff a 250 or 300 smoker may just be the ticket there the 450 can be a handful.
