Just looked at the Parks Website and it is posted on there. Sawmill Flats guys were plowing out the road on Sunday. I guess State parks shut the gates today. This really sucks as there is still a ton of snow up there to ride on but now nowhere to park. :face-icon-small-fro
Just thought I would pass it on.

I suppose that means no more grooming...out of $$ I assume? Or does this always happen in April?

The State Parks contracts (at least for grooming) expire at the end of March, so even if there was money "left over" the contract is done and anything not spent should go back into the dedicated account for use next year.

Anything done from here on out is privately funded.

parking on the road isn't an option? before and after the gates open/close the road has always been ok to park on.. or at least myself and 50 others were not hassled thru the yrs.

I believe the road is good to park on, just not down at the end where the Fire Truck guys are.

let the spring riding begin!!

when they quit grooming they take the signs down (no wheeled vehicles signs). then you can drive as far as you need to get to the snow. as much as I would like to, I would advise against parking at the intersection where jack wagon lives, (fire station intersection). he has called the tow trucks to impound illegally parked vehicles in front of his shack before.

ALL THE WINTER AGREEMENTS END MARCH 31rst

The state actually kept it open till april 2nd at midnight supposedly. All grooming contracts ended on the 31rst. , Just about everyone in the state ran out of money anyways. The agreement was to plow the road wide enough so people can drive up to the fire station turn around and park along side the road with no issues. Theres still a ton of snow up there and they know people will still be riding for another month at least.

What if it dumps 2 feet in the parking lot? Can you park in front of the gate or in that area? Is it legal to shoot tow truck drivers?
