crossfire/m series Dry Weights

probably buying a new sled next year. Not settled on which series to go yet if I want the M series or the Crossfire. Considering M7 and Crossfire 7 (or 8's) and saw what I thought was a good deal on an 08 Crossfire 1000 for $6500 w 235miles on her. But I remember when the big RMK 900 went cheap too and the thing handled like a tank unless some cash was poured on it, compared to the 700. trying to find the wieghts on differnce between the Crossfire and the M series Snow Pro's (800 & 1000) and can't find jack on cat's site. anyone got an idea on the weight differences or have a link?

The Crossfires are always heavier than the M series. My buddies 06 XF is at least 30lbs heavier than my 06 M. When you compare them side by side its easy to see why. Crossfires had ski saddles, larger rear cooler, heavier seat, sway bar, and thicker rails to name a few differences.

the 08 & older Xfires are going to be heavier than the M's by a bit, but the 09's are lighter once you put a comparable seat on & get rid of the swaybar.

You can put a float rear skid on the 08 x-fire & you've got a sled that's a lot of fun to ride.

The cat 1000 is no comparison to the 900 polaris, it's a well built machine, but as a big bore you could always use to lose a few lbs.

But is there quite a few pounds difference between the 8 & the 1 liter of either line, say 20+lbs?

Actual 09 M Series Shipped "Crated" Weights

I received a letter from Arctic Cat before I got my M8 delivered. This might not help you too much but I guess its a small part of the puzzle. LOL:rolleyes:

M8 153 SnoPro = 478lbs
M8 153 SnoPro LE = 477lbs
M8 162 SnoPro = 481lbs
M1000 153 SnoPro = 504lbs
M1000 162 SnoPro = 509lbs
M1000 162 SnoPro LE = 510lbs

I was told the crates were about 15-20lbs. So take that off those numbers and you will be really close. Hope that helps a tiny bit.:D

Thanks Alexhack, exactly what I'm looking for! Dry weight, wet weight don't care much about how much gas etc is in so long as they are all weighed the same. I stopped drooling for a new sled probably 4yrs ago and am going up from my 01 MC 800 LE (approx 530lbs on whatever scale was used then) which I sold a couple years ago. Will have the funds next winter and it actually snowed this winter to justify buying one again after several years of crappy if any riding conditions. Now if someone could post some crossfire weights measured the same as the M series that would be awesome!
