We are finalizing some info today with Lutsen Mountain and will be sending out rider info packets with event info, lodging info, race order, crew passes, etc...
Everyone that has signed up already will be seeing these packets in their email later today. If you have not signed up yet do not delay as registration closes 2 weeks from today on April 10!
We have heard from some people that there is rumors the event or portions of the event have been canceled, that is NOT TRUE!!
The Lutsen staff put in thousands of hours of work into making snow over 5 months, there were some trails we knew that they could not make snow on and those have seen the effects of the poor winter. We had planned for this ahead of time and will just change the routing of the cross country course to stay more on the main part of the ski resort.
On the main portion of the hill there is 2-4' of snow and they have snow that was made in reserve to be used as needed, the hills for hillcross and hillclimb racing have had the most focus for keeping snow on them.
With the event location so far north they have yet to see the warm temps that even places as close as Duluth have seen, looking at the extended forecast we do not see anything jeopardizing the snow conditions enough to where the event would have to be canceled.
