It’s now January 22nd and it’s been very quiet on the Skidoo Page and Ambassador Profiles. Are we finally in a reset and slow of sales and market. It always seems as the Ambassadors start the hype of the 26’ release early January and Skidoo Manufacturing post sound clips, blurry images and etc. They hyped the Mid Season in Season Model Gen 5 Summit Turbo this past early season. Are we getting a refined and lower weighted Gen5 or a Gen5 with a newer motor to prep for the Gen6?
What’s your thoughts below as we usually see a release in the next 30 days or so.

If i had to guess, I reckon MY26 from all brands will be more of the same. There's excess inventory that is to be moved, i think something big and fresh and new would only force a harder loss in sell price on the inventory still on showroom floors. But, I'm just a guy with an opinion, who knows if I'll be right.

That being said, i think a "light year" with updates would be good for the industry. Slow things down a bit, and embrace how good these sleds are. I get there are other variables to consider - slow production = layoffs, etc. Just seems like at times the heavy push for something brand new every 4-5 years is just a race to the bottom.

my 2 pennies' worth...

Not yet time for G6, life span of a frame is around 5-6 years and G5 has only done 3 after this season.

If we look back, REV was 5 years, XP 6 years, XM 3 years, Gen4 6 years. XM was exception because sales were plummeting and they needed to hurry up to catch Pol. And anyways XM was more or less just an facelift for XP.

We probably get some kind of "facelift", just like the 2021 turbo lightweight hood was so it keeps looking fresh. And/or new naturally aspirated engine, as 850 has been around 8 years now which is already due to new engine. But 850 still performs just as competition with their newer engines so they have had no rush.

Gonna quote my message from another thread here too. Not expecting anything major. But for sure something new.

i think it will be many years to get the sled sales back on track. in minnesota we are well into our secound year of winter with zero rideable snow. i wonder why Norona has been so quiet this year did they cut their pay?
That’s what I’m talking about. All the big ambassadors are quiet. Usually Norona or Carl release some type of preview or sound clip or something. I know Jay and Blaine spent quite a bit of time up there in December but so did all the RMSHA boys.

Too much inventory stuck at dealers to release anything new. The last thing I would want to do is make that inventory more stale.

Gotta taper production down and make sure dealers are right sized for the new gen in MY 28 - Sounds far but it's pretty close. Only 2 production runs away.

A high amount of aged inventory makes it tough to release new-and-improved, anything.
It is hard to bring something out new when you have a lot of old inventory, and, when the old inventory has little to no value gap between it and a new vehicle.
People aren't eager to buy, no matter the hype. I talk with my contemporaries in this aftermarket biz and it's become slow all over.

The brands are caught in a bind right now. They are left in the position to mark prices down continually until it sells.

In the end, the economy has to turn around, we gotta get back to converting natural resources to money to a person is EAGER to buy a new snowmobile, or, a new-to-them snowmobile.

MY26 is gonna be bold new graphics. No 195hp factory turbo summit that i've been waiting for years, blargh....:crybaby:

The looming tariffs will hamper progress from lynx and Doo, unless it’s passed to the consumer. BNG and refinements is all I see.

Continue to thank Biden and Trudeau for the inflation on all living costs.Spending huge sums of money on carbon tax, transgender, green initiatives and any other country who needs a bailout and billions on unpaid school loans,no need to wonder why the recreation sector is getting killed. Then you have places like California under complete liberal control wanting the rest of the US to bail them out of constant natural disasters, the taxpayer can only stand so much.

Drill baby....Drill

EDIT. Erm, the reason i put the oil pump, pumps out snowmobiles is because it does do just that. Biden and Trudeau shut the oil off and we're on the cusp of no return in debt. Trump is turning the oil back on and when Polievre gets voted in, the oil is getting turned on up here too. People will have money to spend on snowmobiles again. The oil flows and so does the snowmobile industry, including my clutch kits.

I think when inflation hit every manufacturer was riding on that "wave", adding even more than inflation on the produced product and just blame inflation, which worked for a while in till greed took over. Now we have sick over prices and people stop buying. We already seen new 23,24 even 25 sleds on huge rebates, 0% interest.

Lets see how prices will develop coming years.
