So I was out riding last week in some deep powder and noticed a metal against metal noise under my hood. I started to get concerned about the noise and just took my time getting my sled to the truck.
I even let a friend ride the sled and he couldnt diagnose the problem. I got it home and yanked the chaincase cover thinking it was a tooth or even a worse. And there it was- nothing- but dirty oil. So i checked the sprockets and chain and changed the oil and slapped her back together. When I cranked it up again there was the same damn noise I couldnt figure it out, and the noise would come and go with the flick of the throttle. It started driving me insane. The sled only has 600 miles on it so this should not be happening. I called Ski-Doo found out my warrantee had expired and it would be atleast several hundred dollars and a good week and a half at the least
So then I went back down to the garage and started poking around to see if i could figure it out. I cranked it up, kneeled by the chaincase and gave a good listen.. And there it was my frikken brake rotor vibrating between the two shoes.. lol lol So I took my caliper off and then cleaned up the rails and all the dust and now problem solved
anyone else ever had this problem???
It about drove me crazy. I guess my old man was right when he said always check the easiest things 1st
