Hey Guys took my 05 900 switchback out tonight and just my luck bang grind grind snapped the crank off right by the clutch. My buddy has a broken crank from a 99 SKS 700 would the end fit on my Crank? or am i just gonna have to pull it apart and measure it up?

That is common for the 700/900 so poo came out with an updated crank, thicker taper. With the crank kit you get a clutch also for cannot remember how much. Do a search on here and you will find many threads on this. Also Indy Dan a member on here makes some good cranks and bottom end kits with warranty to boot.


EDIT- Also have a look in the useful links sticky at the top of forum, there is a couple threads by Indy Dan about the cranks.

Indy Specialties has a lot of options for that engine...The crank when it breaks usually is pretty hard on the cases... best to send in the entire bottom end.

The 99 SKS 700 crank your friend has is not even close to your 900, so no, it won't work. There are lots of options to get you back on the snow though. Indy Dan is the best, but check out all the options and go with with fits your budget.
