Crank seal installation procedure

Can anybody chime in as to the proper method to install the crank seal (PTO side) in an old Indy Sport.
I already tried once, but could not force it in enough to make the seal flush with the outside of the case.

Is there some kind of trick?

You have to split the case, best thing to do is get a service manual. Will save you a lot of problems. Good luck

Dub u... Thanks for the reply. You posted the answer I expected, but not the answer I had hoped for. Looks like I have a new summer project.

Look your crank bearings over real well, any rusted or rough spots when you roll them could mean trouble down the trail. Gook Luck!!
