Crank Case Oil

I need help....I have an 05 800 and an 07 600. I have always taken them to the dealer for service, however, this year I started doing the maintenance myself (save some $$ for riding). I used to race and wrench on my own MX bikes, so this should be no big deal.
He is my question. How the heck do you change the crank case oil. I cannot find a cover, fill hole or plug. Can anyone help? :o

You are joking I hope!!!!!
The oil you changed on 2 stroke MXers was transmission, not crankcase. The 2 strokes lube the crank with the injection oil mixed with gas and air. So just keep the injecton oil tank filled and your good to go.

Hey, I'm not trying to pull your chain! I know very little about these engines, and I believed that they had some sort of transmission case; separate that of the chain case. Apparently this is my error; however being new to this sport, I don't want to burn a motor down because of a lack of knowledge. Everyone has to start somewhere.....Sorry I asked.

No, I didn't want to seem rude, sorry about that. I am by no means a gearhead either, but do enjoy wrenching on my toys.

There is no gear reduction, just crank to your pulleys (clutches) which in effect is your transmission.

Keep an eye on chain tension and oil level as well.

The BRP shop manuals are an awesome resource and very good step by step instructions. With the manual and the forums, we all learn alot.

So, once again sorry for coming off rude. (just thought you might be kidding around, as alot of that happens here too!!!)

Here's a thought, maybe that is what they mean by "heavy oil". It seems all the sleds with crankcase oil weigh about 200 lbs. extra !!!!!!!!!!!
