Cracked helix

Has anyone had a helix crack?
The sled is a 09 M1000.Lucky he opened the hood before he heft the trail into the alpine.
I have never seen one crack like this.
I am also wondering about the wearing on the side of the spring.Anyone?

yes i have seen this many times on the 1000 with the stock 36 degree helix. change it out with a 40 or 46-40 and no further problems . then clutch accordingly. cheers

Ditto here Dave, stock 36 as well.

I took it as being abuse from jumping, like the spiders I break, but it sounds like it's more common than I thought.
