Cracked Bulkhead Advice

Alright guys, so recently my primary clutch cracked right in half, I thought it was just wear and tear, then I get the primary off and the motor mount behind it is cracked, alright I guess that can happen, then I pull that off to put the new one on and my bulkhead has a head crack going straight through it right behind that!

Ill attach a picture.

Sled is a 2007 M8 TURBO running 8psi boost so it does take a decent amount of stress.

Just need some advice if it can be welded up or if its time for a new bulkhead... Or if its time to do my first part out on a sled?

Any reason you guys can think of for this much damage happening from a cracked primary? This all happened right when a belt blew.

Just an fyi if you havent looked yet, Look at the other side behind where the can would be, I bet there's a crack there also. All of the m's in our group have the exhaust side crack, not as bad as your crack though. Maybe I oughtta check out the pto side also. I'd weld it and see what happens.

Find a good welder and it wont be a problem to weld it. My brothers 09 TM8 cracked in nearly the same place.

Ya weld it up. Did you add more motor mounts to the sled. How was the grommet between the dd and motor plate look and see if it is sloppy front and back.

No extra motor mounts. Don't see much slop from it everything else seems to be good.

I'll check basicly everything else I can think of too and make sure it's all good.

I was taking to a buddy who does some welding and he said I would have to pull the motor to weld it from the inside, what do you guys think about that can I just weld it from the outside and be done with it or will that get in the way of the motor mount? How did all you guys do yours.

Every one we have welded we did from the outside. Just make shure that grommet is super tight when you put it back in. How many miles.

Check behind the motor from the side to the cooler. Its easy to pull the motor i had mine apart and had a buddy weld all the cracks last year.

I decided im gunna take this thing completely apart this summer and fix anything that is anything.

Went last night and got it welded from the outside, from the looks of it it should hold, but as long as I make it till summer im happy, theres still riding out there that ive been missing!
