So guys I have wrote a few times about my experience but since adding a tunnel cooler to stabilize temps and now having an egt I really have been able to fine tune. I added a huge cpi expansion chamber with the tss suspension and intake. For air flow these two things made such a difference I was able to go back to the stock q11 rod which is the stock rod... With the more efficient air flow it allows for the signal to the Rod to be much stronger which in turns lets the leaner q11 Rod run more efficiently (richer). Last year I ran a stock air box and fmf fatty pipe and had to use a q5 which was two steps richer.... Then in changing those few items I was able able to switch back. I am running anywhere from 11.5 to 12.5 and with one more ride I expect to be completely dialed closer to 12.9ish . It idles great and has great low to top end. So I think what is missed when explaining these carbs is having an non restrictive intake and exhaust makes and huge difference on how they function (the signal they receive)... My egt's do not change from 7000 to 11000 along with 35 degree temp swings... I will post videos with the egt's the next time out... The only downfall I find is having to prime fuel to start.... But other than that is runs spot on... That is my 2 cents ...

Went from 5000 to 10500 same experience ... Once I was high we were in some crazy 5ft bottomless to the ground snow... I will be straight pinned 8900ish for an easy five minutes... Breaking all type of trail... Was hard to pull second going down hillThen had to turn out it would claim from 12 to 14 but this is as extreme I can imagine being pinned... I did it 4 times with the exact same result.... Once I would hit any type of base it would grab and then go and I would not need to be pinned... Or I would wheelie out love the tss and am glad I had a long track today..

So I'm halfway thru building my tunnel cooler, are you monitoring engine temps on your 500, what are you seeing. Do you still have one rad?

No rad , never go over 135 and have ice scratchers ... In the super deep snow still hard to get above 80 to 90 even revving the piss out of it like it was a red headed step child everything is great with the tunnel cooler and should have done it from the beginning it makes the engine run so consistent which makes it simple to tune ...

The stock pipes on 500's aren't really a pipe. more of a tube. easy power to be had.

If you're turning a cr500 at 8900 for 5 minutes straight, you should start gathering spare crank pieces and cases now...

Already on hand... That being said early season is hard on all machines ...everything is full tilt this time of year with all the snow and no base.. Use good oil and keeping temps low really helps things last..
