So I have had a hell of an issue with frame bolts ect coming loose even with red loctite... that being said my head bolts started to loosen even after being retorqued. .. is this common or something wierd. It started leaking coolant from the rear of the head... see pic

Are you talking motor mounts ? Was your frame painted or powder coated ? When you lose the motor mount bolts you get a crazy amount of vibration and will do some interesting things like crack pipes etc. Also i noticed a lot of vibration from the Smartcarb. I was thinking it caused a few of my issues but we can leave that for another day. Let me know about the frame.

I am talking head bolts that you tighten in a crisscross pattern... my frame was powdercoated... I will recheck all motor mounts.. I. The picture you can see black dribble... that is coolant...

If your frame was powder coated and u coated over where the bolt heads tighten they wear through the powder and come loose. Once they wear through retighten with Nordloc washers. They will never come loose again.

Head bolts shouldnt come loose. I check my torque on them here and there but never have loosened. What kind of head gasket did you use. I only use Honda or Cometic.

I used cometic... I am definitely ordering some nord.lock washers... thanks !

I have had a a few come loose. .. for instance the seat frame hinge. When I am back in town I will check on the motor mounts

I warned you that the motor mount bolts will loosen. The nordloks should solve your problem, I never had them come loose after I did that. Make sure you put the nordloks on both sides of the bolts. I am sure the extreme vibration is what caused your head bolts to loosen.

I know I know you did..... honestly I am so used to the KTM and nothing ever loosening that I had to get in a different mindset for this bike... I just ordered about 30 of those in various sizes..... They are going everywhere;)

U only get EXTREME vibration when motor mounts come loose. Even your KTM will EXTREME vibrate if the motor mount bolts come loose. Its the powder coat problem we talked about. I bet if you just put it back together they wouldn't come loose again with a good lock nut or loctite as long as the powder coat is now down to the metal under the heads and nuts.

I would agree... When I am back in town I will update...

OK nothing loose... all bolts seemed torqued right.. but it was leaking coolant...so I will swap some rings, add some nordlocks then see what happens

Carb hitting frame ? Steel frame i believe ? The Smarty comes very close to the stock frame. The Smarty vibrates like crazy compared to other options imo. I have some crazy video of the difference at idle alone. It kinda boggles your mind.

Swap some rings ? Are you gonna run Nords on your head bolts ? Never seen that done before. No reason they should be coming loose.

It does not appear to be.
. There are no scratches on the frame... what is your take on keeping the exaust ed sealed up.... do you get blow by? How often are changing out the exaust rings?

I use a Atomic 22 flange. 2 Orings. Plus i had some custom orings for the FMF Pipe. Ultra high temp. Last longer than the black fmf stocker.

Can you order those? I use something similar for my ktm (vitons) and they are great

Not sure if they are still making the Atomic flange. They were up until recently. The orings i had made.

OK everyone engine mount went loose... caused one of the head bolts to loosen... needless to say vibes are better;)
