CR500 and 2014 MH ST

I know that this isn't the classifieds but I personally don't browse that section very often and am assuming most of you are the same.

I have decided to dabble with an SX kit and it just happened to be bolted to a KX450F so now that I have two snobikes in the shop one of them need to go.

With that said I am selling my 2001 CR500R with or without my 2014 MH ST kit.

Here is a link to the add on craigslist and it can also be found in the classified here at snowest.

Price for complete package is $7800, bike only $2700, kit only $5000.

Shoot me a pm if you have questions.

Curious, why are you selling the CR500 over the KX450?

Considering how many bikes I have ran a MH kit on (KTM525, KTM300, CR500) I would have to label myself as an experimenter always looking for the next best thing. I have yet to run a FI bike so I am a little curious to see how well they work on a MH kit. I also want to get some seat time on an SX kit and this bike just happened to be attached to the kit. I really hope that I don't miss the power delivery of the CR500 to much but I guess it's just money right, I can always build another 500. I have thought about holding on to the 500 since I finally have it dialed but that would make 4 bikes sitting in the shop and it's awful hard to keep piece with the wife when I keep adding bikes without selling.

I'm building a cr5 MH on a beloved bike I've had for over ten years. Never sell CR500's keep collecting! I have 5 runners 2 complete motors and lots of parts. What did you finally settle on for carb icing? I've settled on running a coolant circuit through the carb off of a bypass thermostat.

I am running a KTM carb heater element and an engine cover to keep all of the heat in. I used coolant around the carb last season and it worked good but I wanted to eliminate some pluming and make the carb more accessible this season.

Thanks for the info.

What did you do for electric power?
