cpr turbo stroker motor anyone have one?

what do you think of the stroker motor reliability? turbo kit work well? need some info..
 
i have his vector stroker motor with a alpine turbo kit works great.his turbo kit can be used in the mountains but is more for the flat lake racers.oh his stroked crank is just done by falcon
 
i had the stoker kit in my vector. sent it back throw a rod he also has a big bore kit 1049 to a 1170 says it works very well. im going that route this time. his turbo kit work just like any turbo kit it squeezes air into the engine. right?
 
no not really they are not the same. basicly they are but its the little thing that are different intake,down pipe coated header & turbo housing.to name a few,dave at powderlites has done the most work with the vector & his kit works the best on the vec & i have rode pretty much all the vec kits.so is the 1170 in the nytro motor.how come you through a rod on the vec.

yes the 1170 is a nytro motor. ill have mine stroked and big bore. should produce more power with less boost. whitch means more reliability. i had carrillo rods stroker motor. over reved. i was running at 8900rpm. from what jeff simon says 8400rpm on the stroked motor.what do you run on yours rpm? what houseing does dave use i would like to compare cpr set up vs. yours. is his a front mount? i see the difference how clean the kit is put together.
 
i run mine at 8500-8600.dave kit runs the 28rs with a ported waste gate & double down pipe with the .64 a/r exhaust housing. if you are talking about a nytro daves kit is a rear mount vector is a front mount.alpine & impulse make front mounts for the nytro.that 1170 sounds mean would be a tork monster.
 
i run 15 lbs. on a 2531 garrett pump. at 15lbs im getting 275 on the dyno. jeff thinks that ill only need to run 12-13 lbs to produce the same power. if all goes we this summer im looking to upgrade to a 2860 garrett it should make my vector rip right along. jeffs kit is a front mount.

i see your vector is for sale with a forward riding post. what does that intel. cutting the stock post and welding the post on the other side of the upper crossmember? if you cold post a pic that would be great. i want to get more forward on mine. try to keep the front down?

what jets are you running i was told 146 stock is 145?
 
i can tell you that you will make allot more power with the 28rs than that little 2531 at 15lbs that thing is starting to make a fair bit of heat it does not flow enough air to make sustained power in the mountains plus it will cause probs like cracked headers & deto from to much heat this mite not be a prob for you depending on where you ride but at elevation that turbo will have a tough time.
as for the rider forword kit you can get them from a guy on here (wildchild) comes with a new cromo post & all the mounting hardware takes a couple hours to put it in i will have a look for pics.as for my sled i run a 28rs with ported waste gate & double down pipe at 18-20lbs boost & it is for sale but dont care if it sells it has all the power i need & is a ton of fun will ride it again next year if it dosnt, i will just make it faster.:D
 
yep my header cracked twice this year. it getting real old pulling the turbo and header off. i im going to get the 2860 next year. did you get yours from dave.
 
How often do headers crack? what lbs of boost? and how hard is it to take the header off these things?

you have to take off

seat
tank
turbo
water lines to turbo
heat shield
then the header the bolts can be a mother


crack when when they get hot real hot.
 
if you are cracking the header on the vec you are way to lean ,your exaust pipe is touching something or cr headers are junk.the vec does not crack headers very few alpine, powderlites kits had a prob.

All of the above. My Cpr header lasted about 200 miles, Powderlites replacement was much better.

Vector Turbo

Quick look at pictures tells me you better put new updated inside water fitting on so you don't burn it down. New one is Stainless long tube.
Oil hose fittings going into turbo need to be replaced with new onepeice design.
Carbs need to have 150 mains to make power.
Better blowoff valve would be nice to. Edit ( Needs blowoff valve installed proper?? It will fail and not be open at idle and Leak at high boost.!! Iam Vector!!
Not knocking anyones sled just giving info to make your ride better.

Stroker with big bore CPR kit won't touch a newer GT28rs Vector stock motor with new intercooler, double down pipe etc.

im looking for a 28rs for next year whats your price ? 150 jeff was saying 146 but i heard you guys are puting down some big power.

no harm no foul im just looking for more power anyhelp i can get is well worth it. thanks a bunch

yes that is a old pic almost everything has been upgraded now except the water line fittings & oil line & yes i run 150 mains ported wastegate double down pipe diff bov
