Council Mtn

I've ridden Council Mtn a couple times comming in from Donnely but haven't gone in from the Council/Hwy 95 side. What is the best place to park and ride from if you go in from Hwy 95? Looking at Google Earth, it seems like Cottonwood Road is a possilbility. I'm still a little new to the Idaho area (live in Meridian) and I would really appreciate the help.

Cottonwood is a possibility (not the best), but Mill Creek rd is your best bet.

Thanks. I take it there isn't a parking lot. Is it shorter to come in this way or from Donnely? The shorter the trail ride (time/distance) the better........

Yep there is a parking lot ( At Mill Creek). I would come in this way as I can unload and be up the mountain in about 10 minutes if I don't play my way up (Plus I know the short cuts). Even if I play my way up (short play times) and don't take any of the shortcuts you could be up there in about 15 -20 minutes max. It is really easy and quick to get up there.

No problem. I will keep my eye open for any lost 900 riders. I'm up there somewhere at least once a weekend. So if you see a guy on vertical escape with a custom painted helmet and a VholdR strapped on it's probably me.
