Ironic. My wife just got home from taking our daughter to swimming lessons and was talking about how the kids in her class are taking a couple of strokes and then flipping on to their back to breathe. What a great thing to teach a baby.

Got this email from a coworker about it.
Her husband is the direct of the local YMCA.

Very controversial. The American Pediatric Society , The YMCA of
the USA, etc. do not endorse it due to severe health related issues.

I wonder what the "severe health related issues" are? Drowing? LOL

Well, probably that and severe water ingestion. All I can say is I'd rather have my tots have the ability to know how to paddle up or splash or float or something and not just fall in and sucks loads of water down their throat from panicking before anyone notices they're in trouble. We are always extremely cautious and always know where our kids are at when we hit the water. Boating, swimming, etc..., doesn't matter what it is there is always a set of eyes on them.(and floaties or lifejackets) Doesn't mean you can't go one step further to be prepared though.

Man that's awesome, I had my kid in lesson's at 3 month's cuz I have a cabin on the lake and wanted him to be able to save his own life
He wasn't doin what that kid can but he was swimming by 1 year
