Cottonwood Avy riders

WOW, the out of bounds avy area in the Cottonwood bowl really needs better markings. Once again we watch a rider high mark the slide area that has already claimed two lives in years past. That area used to have better markings but now just has a half ring of poles.

If you are a new rider without any avy training PLEASE ask somebody where you are riding where NOT to be it could save your life (and not be another black eye for snowmobilers).

BTW the guy that did this was in a rig that implied he knew better.

Since you say that the rig implied that he knew better, what makes you think more poles would have stopped him? More speed limit signs surely don't make me obey them any differently.

Good point, I guess hoping that a little better reminder might make some people think twice might be wishful thinking.

You guys have any info on cow creek and the bottom of cottonwood pass. They were logging at New Years and had the road completely plowed.

Lots of snow, but not groomed when we went over it two weeks ago.
