no offense man, but if your going to go ride on the public land and use our groomed trails to get there, then just go get registered.

I dont care if you just carry it with you or hate sticking the stickers on the sled or whatever, but you can at least register your sled...

and yes 9 out of 10 saturdays the fish cops are checking sleds

OK, I will get registered this week. i really don't want any trouble up there. Thank you for your help.
If you say that it's public land, why are you saying "our trails". Just wondering.

Actually, In Utah, it's illegal to transport your sled on "OUR" (meaning Americans) public roads without a registration, and I have been stopped and checked in road side check points.

Since I got my sled, I took it straight to my private land and have never had a problem there. Even when I trailer it back to SL. I have been through a check point, and they just asked where I was going and said OK, on your way. Thank you for the knowledge.

the money from registering the sleds pays for the grooming of trails. hence why should you be able to use them if you havent paid your admission fee...

i personally dont put the stickers on my sled, but i always carry my registration with me. if you have an out of state residence you can just buy an out of state tag for $35

I ride quite a bit of private land too. it maybe because to access it you have to cross public (FS land), but i get checked there each and every single time i ride there...

Good to know. Thank you Phatty. I never have liked the look of the reg stickers. Takes away the whole look of the sled. Do you not get in trouble for not having it visable?

Your both going to jail! I have buds that dont reg...I do I think everyone should. Im not going to not ride with them though. But if they (any peace officer Ranger Fish cop cop) can issue a ticket if your goat, snow or sand is on public land trailer or not.

WHAT?!?!?! a sled on a *trailer* needs to be registered??
damn, they're really anal about some things here, huh?!

they will hassle you a bit about it, but its always safe to say something like, its so cold that if i stick them on right now, they will just fall off... which 99% of the time is true :D
they cannot ticket you for not having the stickers on the sled, because the paper registration is the actual registration... you could always claim your stickers fell off or were worn off (note i dont advocate lying, so you could leave the stickers in the woods somewhere).

I have been ticketed for having a nonregistered sled on a trailer also. :mad:Very agrivating to say the least.

Even more agrovating is to have to register my sled in Utah AND Idaho. just to ride up Franklin or Beaver creek canyons about 3 miles I need a Utah registration. 3 *%#@# MILES. I payed $60 this year the those miles. But sence I have it I go Tony and Prov to.

I wish if you could prove you are registerd in your state of residance you could get a discount on all out of state registrations. If gas was not enough now days I payed $60 for Utah & $32.50 for Idaho registrations this year.

As for those that do not registering their sleds. I hope for your sake you do not ride past me. I am more then willing to tell you my feelings. Sence you are riding on a trail the "I" paided to have groomed and you are tearing it up.

Hi Phatty, exactly right they will hassle you, but I have never got a
ticket and I have never put my stickers on my sled, was told once up
at bear river "I could still give you a ticket for not having them on your
sled" might be better to say they fell off.

Just do it

$5000 to $10,000 for a sled $1000's in mods gas and clothing then you bithc about the cost to register the sled??? Freak spend the money and do the right thing!!! Are you kidding me????

I hope the cops are always there....

speaking as someone who has experienced theft of a recreational vehicle...I hope the cops stop and check everyone.

Pay your damn money, display properly and get on with it.

Ran into them on Saturday, mine are in my pocket. Told him it has been so cold and haven't had a chance to put them on, he said no problem but suggested I get it done at some point, didn't give me a time line though.
