Cooper To Gold Creek Trail!!!!

If anyone is interested we punched in the trail today so you can park and goldcreek and ride to cooper and Gallagher!!!!!

Last time I was back there on my KTM I was thinking...
"10 feet of snow, you might make it" I guess it was easy...
:moon:

this is starting from cooper and going down to the north end of the lake up through a clear cut off the inlet of the lake and up on a old logging road headed toward the kaches and goldcreek snow parks

looking south down the lake, if you have big balls you could water cross the thin ice down the lake!!!!

Ski brakes are needed in yesterdays conditions coming down from the logging Road to the lake!!!!!

Very impressive. Years ago I tried to get down the west side of Kachess from Cooper on both dirtbike and a sled....There has always been a foot trail just up from the lake shore....I never made it, but there were no clearcuts until recently.....

Now, I can see the clear cuts you talk about with this Sat. views:

I did half of the Easton to French Cabin ride yesterday. At the very top before you drop over into French Cabin we stopped to take a short break. Something started going haywire with my buddys sled. We almost decided to leave it. We finally got it started and decided to not complete the ride and head back. I know the way now though. Always wanted to do the Kachess to Cooper run. Great job guys.

I have said it could be done for years--many years. I would have started on the GC side--but that is just the way I would go. There is a forest service road that goes right down to the north end of Kachess--then just follow Gravy and Fordy's trail:D

I did not even think about that f a ride this weekend--great idea for the crap conditions.

Good work. I have an idea how you did it. I've always searched for the magic trail for a dirtbike run up Kachess to our cabin at Cooper. It could be done to, but I would have to poach closed trail. I've never done it on snow (never thought about it since I park at Salmon La Sac to get our pack sleds up to the cabin) but now I want to!

3 weeks ago we built a bridge over a rather large wash out on that forest service road....You need a lot of snow to do that... In years where the snow isn't as deep, you will be hard pressed to make it..... The river feeding the lake is a bit tricky. We did ride accross a fallen log over the river...

So true--on a low snow or even on a average year it can be interesting getting to the north end of the lake. I am not going up the newer clearing but the old way up box. The washout on the new or old road?

Sweet ya guys did this--I would have been up for that ride for sure.

I probabley would have broke the log with my sled:eek:
