Cooling system airlock.

I just installed the VE Rear bumper and heat exchanger on my 08 M1000 and need to get the airlock out of the cooling system. Most guys say to ligt the front of the sled up and run the sled and the coolant will run back and you just keep refilling the resevior until it does not take any more.
My question is when you run the sled, do you keep the cap on the resevior or leave it off???
So far I have not much luck with getting rid of the airlock (been running it with the cap on) and it should take more than the 1 tank of coolant I have put in it so far.

fill the coolant bottle to the top..fire the sled up on flat ground..then pull the sled over on its clutch side for about 30 seconds(keep it running the whole time), then let it back down on the track..refill the antifreeze(still keeping it running), then flip it up on the mag side(again keeping it running) for 30 seconds..then put back on its track and recheck fluid level..repeat as neccesary until cooler hose going to bottle is warm.....

Lift the front of the sled up about 3-4 feet and run it with the cap off. You will feel the rear heat exchanger get warm when the coolant starts to circulate. Keep adding coolant as the level goes down.

or just ride it up on the tilt trailer run it sitting tilted lay the deck down and fill it and run it tilted again until full.
