Cooling My Nytro Down.....

I have a Nytro with an Impulse turbo on it. I LOVE it! It runs really hot in the turbo area (mid mount) though, and it came with one vent which helps but the plastic is raging hot after a few minutes and it actually is uncomfortable to touch. Anyone install any other venting in this area? I dont really want it open completely if i can avoid it, but it needs something else for the hot riding. Powder and cooler temps it didn't seem to be an issue.

Maybe check 2 Cool Air Vents, they're based out of Idaho. Great people, great product-tough, durable. you pay for their product, but it's well worth it. Even carry a warranty on their vents:-) Put a set on an Apex. Good quality product!

Get all these issues worked out BB, my next sled is going to be the Nytro with Impulse turbo:D i can't wait it makes me smile just thinking about it.

It's not a real serious problem, I just would rather everything be cooler in that area. What I dont want is for a red hot header to get cooled too quickly and crack (retemper) when it shouldn't. I think I just might make another vent or two myself and see what Paul (Impulse turbos) thinks about my creation.

I have an Impulse also, and most of the winter i ran with out even having any vents, but we ride in some pretty cold weather in Alaska. This spring I put the vent Paul sent me on the left side above the downpipe, which really helped with warmer spring temps. I think venting both sides and the top would be nice, I might try next winter.

i rode all winter with no problems at all but lattly it has become a little hot around the intake . i was thinking of insatlling a small computer fan behind the vent. But i only ride a few days a year where its hot out so i just put the vent in and left it alone

Yep, noticed the same thing, plenty warm in the crotch area. Seriously, watch your fingers on the metal vent after a few pulls.

I'm going to come up with some additional cooling, even venting the side panels will help. A flowrite, or flowrite mesh and some holes should help a ton. Will be coming up with something over the summer for sure. Plus, cooler clutches can't hurt anything afaic.

yeah the temp out side makes a huge diffrence i wasent even running pannel vent for most of the year , after yamma fest though ive been running one and it does help but i think im vector has the cool tip just to wrap the down pipe . i also found running with youre hood off while youre climbing keeps the pannel temps down and you dont screw up youre hood if you screw up lol

I am in agreement with the clutch venting. I have mixed experiences on wrapping the header. But I like the idea of something being done there.....I think I will wrap the down pipe and make one more aluminum vent there. Who, if anyone, is making Flowrite style vents for the Nytro? Or is it just make your own?
