coolant leak on 2005 M7 ... Please Help!

I have a coolant leak on my 2005 M7. There is antifreeze seeping out of where the steering post bolts through the top of the front cooler. It is not where any of the hoses attach, but right at the top in the center where the steering post is attached. If anyone has had this problem and fixed it, I would love to know what you did. Thanks.

Happened to mine

I pulled it apart and found the leak. There a very small crack in the top of the cooler, under the steering post mount.

I had to remove steering post and weld the leaking area. Grind smooth and cut a small piece of aluminum with new wholes for steering post in it to go over the whole area and weld that into place. The first time I only welded the leaking area and it did not work, so had to make the reinforced plate with the wholes in it and welded that all the way around the edges and it has held with about 800 miles on and no leaks. This sucks and you have to be good at aluminum welding to get it right. That whole area is part of the bulk head and would be totaled otherwise. Good luck:cool:
