This is what I found out..But Like I said check with you insurance carrier.

Extending Coverage to a Rental Snowmobile

Will the coverage on a Snowmobile policy extend to a rental snowmobile?

"Answer"
The coverage will not extend to a rental snowmobile. The policy will only cover those snowmobiles specifically listed on it.

So boworring your buddies sled and wrecking it, your policy will not extend either.

I am from mn and just got back from Cooke renting everyday. I insure the rental through my automotive insurance. I insure a sled and my agent just insures the sled I ride for the day with a $500 deduct. I call her in the morning with the vin # and am good to go. FYI makeup remover works awesome at taking any scuffs or marks off the sled. There is no way I would rent without insurance of some kind. Cooke rental is expensive. $250 + for an 800 with fuel and oil from exon. Bob is a bit cheaper at $185 plus fuel and oil. Keep in mind the new sleds he has are 162" cats. He does have an older m6 and an assault but for that price I want to be riding a 13. Good luck and have fun!

I have state farm ins. Last year I rented a sled for the wife and the only way to get insurance was to write up a policy for a month. They checked for any other options but this was the only way state farm would do it.
