Just wanted everyone to know how unhappy I was with the soda butte lodge. We got a room with three beds on the second floor and charged us $120 a night which is ok if it was nice. There was a sealing tile falling down with insulation hanging out there was a access panel for the shower that was just sitting there and bottom line it was just not nice. Also they were doing construction the whole time we were there with cords, airlines, tools, showers and a radio and yes the radio was on. We complained and said we wanted to stay there but wanted a discount and she said she would talk to the owner and when we checked out they said there was nothing they would do. We also talked to bob at the super 8 he said he would have gave us a room for I think it was 75 with a rollaway bed since it was such a slow time of the season. With all that being said F the soda butte I will now always support bob at the super 8 and bearclaw bobs he is a stand up guy and supports snowmobilers big time.

I would have to agree. We were charged more for our room thn we were quoted. and obviously the place is a dump. super 8 and the alpine will see me often

I second that comment. The Soda Butte Lodge a disgrace to call them a lodge. It was more like a roach motel. This is one the the worst places I have stay at. Outragous overprice rooms for what they are. I will not be staying there again. I will sleep in my truck if it was the last resort. Bearclaw bob was so nice He treats you fairly and willing to help out everyone who comes to cooke city like they want you there, and his wife makes the best damn breakfast I ever had for cheap price. So the riding was good for the snow they had. We were there for the three days and had a blast. Miner saloon has killer pizza. Cooke City Motorsports ROCKS. They treated me very great and can tell they are happy to have customers to keep them going. Im not usually a negative person but this trip was ruin thanks to the awful people at the soda butte lodge NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY

my buddy and i also stayed at soda butte last weekend and id agree 100% with everything you said. it was my first time in cooke so i didnt know any better but the rest of my trips this year ill be staying at super 8 also.

I am surprised they get anyone to stay there anymore. We eat there once in a while and go to the bar but I would never stay there.

Ditto. Everytime I've even poked my head in there, they were rude and unhelpful. Glad I've never given them any $$

Soda Butte Lodge

I also stayed with some buddies at the Soda Butte Lodge last weekend and was very Disapointed. Place is a dump and way over priced . Even when they were told we would never stay there again they just shrugged there shoulders and and handed us a full price bill!!!! Didn't care about customer service one bit , kinda sad... Super 8 and Bear Claw Bobs is the way to go for service and price!!!!

Just called and canceled my reservations for february. Whats the BEST place in Cooke to stay. Renting sleds from Cooke Exxon.

Super 8 is always a nice place to stay. Clean, and continental breakfast every morning. Also, Antlers Lodge has some cabins that are nice, and Bill and Kay are great people.

x2 for antlers. Been staying there for the last 6 years. Great people, pretty reasonable prices. They have a bunch of new "hotel" style rooms and cabins. Some of the cabins are getting run down but they still get the job done.

Thanx a ton guys. Renting sleds from the Exxon. Obviously Soda Butte is the closest is the Super Eight the next closest?

we always stay at the Alpine probly the same distance to exxon as super 8 but the miners is right across the street from the alpine

The super eight is pretty much right across the street from the soda butte. It only takes a few minutes to walk all the way across town it's pretty small

yep a little over a year ago and I think he is about done managing it and is moving back to Louisiana. A nice family from Wyoming bought it.
