Cooke City Shoot out

sorry, the pump gas thread thing got burried and im to lazy to being it back up all the time

saturday/sunday january 9/10th. its still really loose on details, i just wanted a way for people to go out and compare notes and see how things all run together, hill drags dont prove much I dont really care to race people in a normal day of riding!

plan was, saturday, pump gas... sunday, 110+ and big power!!

just for fun, but if anyone wants to make it a competion, game on.

from talking around there should be PLENTY of boost to go around, a few companies out showing off there stuff. twisted and R&D custom turbo werx both planing on showing, so got a t-dragon and possible 2 t-xp's coming out.

Ill be there with my crowd, no boost other then mine, but should be a blast!

I am going to try my best to make it , i have never been to Cooke . I hope to have a TM1000 to go with the TM8.

What about the annual sled and liver tune/round lake races? Is this going to replace that?
This is separate from that I think. That is my only question......why do this only a week after the Sled and Liver Tune?

i didnt want to infringe on this thing and it worked out for a decent sized crowd that I was trying to get all in one place at one time. the original plan was just a fun get together, nothing super organized, just using snowest to attract others who wouldnt normally know about it. also, not all that interested in hill racing, like I said above, just wanted to go out and play with some boost, go out meet up and ride around with some others.

if anyone is interested in organizing a donation with this PG thing, im always more then happy to throw down a few $$ to support a good cause, as are most sledders I know.

Oh pump gas. I read that wrong the first time. If it's pump gas, screw it I'm out!!!:mad:.

Hell yah, we will be there:D. Can't promise the grade of fuel;), but we should have 4 turbo XP sleds to show and anyone can demo mine. You could possably throw a leg over one of the others too, but I can't say for sure as they are customer's sleds. I'll even bring my turbo Cat if someone needs a backup sled.

Dave Halverson
R&D Custom Turbo Werx

And Ill be there for sure too. Ill have my turbo xp there for demos so come on out and give er a whirl!! Should be lots of fun!!

Ill be on pump saturday and whatever it takes to peg the boost gauge for sunday so it should be a good time!!

Depending on how it all goes down I may also have a full tilt TXP1000 along with me.

Dave, wheres a decent place to stay around that town??

Cooke City Shootout

Maybe I'm missing some this but usually we do the Cooke City Shootout/Sled and Liver Tune on the 31 of December or if the date falls on a bad day we acomadate.

Last year we did get snowed out though.

If someone is planning a different event other than the fund raiser for Cooke please chime in and let us know.

Thanks,

This is totally different, Skidoon'it brought up the idea a couple weeks ago for a few people to get together in Cooke City and show off pump gas mod sleds, the idea caught on and now a few more people than were originally envisioned are wanting to come out and play. This is in no way incorporated in or with any event being put together by the folks in Cooke City. I don't think it was ever really designed to be a shootout, but a ride with pump gas mod sleds to see what people were building and how they were working in the real world. There's been some S%$^ talking in other areas of the forum, like about the RKT turbo slayer M1000 and turbo A can run on 1 cylinder and beat turbo B so I think there will be a couple grudge matches while we're down there as well. Hopefully everyone can keep their ego under control enough to have a good time. And now you have the brief version of what's going down.

yeah, thanks for explaining, i was away from my computer. but it wasnt really planned as a real super organized even, just a way to go out, get snowest people all in one place and put there sleds where there mouths are, and as always, enjoy the snow and go out and have a fun time. a way for all those who talk SO Much smack all summer and even into winter on here, but have mystery sleds or whatever, to come out, and see what they can do in the hills! cooke is a easy to meet and ride with people place as your in such a small town and so close to the good riding there is no need for super organization, you just run into people, and follow the whistle!!

I in no way want to encroach on the sled and liver tune, just worked out as there was a large college age crowd looking to come, and its right before spring semester starts, so we all have time to spare.

I just like the idea of being able to watch everybody fill up from the same pump and then go run the same hill, no wondering if its actually 91 or not. I will have some people taking plenty of video, as I imagine plenty of others will so we can see who's sleds run and whos, well, you get the point.

Hey guys...we will most likely be in Cooke during this time so maybe we could hook up and get some filming done. Maybe try to organize something that would be good to showcase on a vid. Nothing to much or even that long in length, just something fun and exciting.

We are running a couple PGTs in our group so it would be fun to compare.

Thanks,
Ted

that would be awsome! even just throw something small together on youtube, so people can see some cool sleds, nothing wild, just good running(hopefully!) sleds and some fun times.

the comparison aspect is exactly what I want this to be about, not a d1ck measuring contest, just a way to see how everyones sleds run!

Sounds like a fun time!

Checked in on the Website for Cooke and they have the Liver Tune on December 30th.
