Converted X-Fire to M skid frame placement

I ride an 06 X-Fire 700 that I have converted to an M Series. Narrow front end, DD gearing, etc. The track/skid consist of a 151" Polaris track with M Series rails. The combo of the 151" track, M rails and stock 2.52 drivers worked out perfect. As for the skid, the stock X-fire rear arm switched over fine. I did have to buy a M series front arm. The skid installed into the tunnel perfectly with no mods. I have been ruuning it this way for two years. However, I got to thinking. Just because the skid installed with no issues, does this make it right??? In other words, do the factork X-Fire holes provide the correct placement of the skid for mountain riding? Can anybody chime in with some advice?

Thanks,
Pal
