convert to 3" pitch track or stay with 2.52" pitch?

:face-icon-small-hapOK, on my 2004 Rev 800 I'm going to switch from 159" Camo Lite track to a 162" x 16" track with bigger rear wheels and am hearing that it would be much better to convert to the Avid 7 tooth 3" pitch drivers and a 3" pitch track instead of staying with a 2.52" pitch track with a better profile. Will I really gain that much better climbing ability with the all the extra money converting to the 3" pitch drivers and newer track then just going with a better 2.52" track like the Camo 9979M?

Thanks, guys. stayed with 2.52 pitch and went with the RT 1000 track. looks good now sled is for sale. Getting 2012 "X" with 800 etec:face-icon-small-hap

i put a low mile maverick track off an apex on my 05 with wahl bros. 7 tooth drives. two wheel kit from mtn machine. and 8" wheels. i had to set my skid back 1" but the sled went like a raped ape!

p.s. if you dont change the track put a boss seat on it, way better ergo's, and i had a boss noss seat so i could put a mtn dew where the noss bottle went! :face-icon-small-ton plus had room for any tools i might need

Can somebody explain the difference in the pitch. Is something to do with the windows or something like that. Kind of clueless. Thanks

So will a 2.5 inch lug clear the tunnel still on my rev and still have room to clear the snow out or is it going to be tight.I am out of town so can't really look my self just wanted to get info if somebody has put a 2.5 lug on a 07 rev and without a dr or extended chaincase. Thanks

9941m, its a camo 159" 2.313" lugs, bulletproof track...throw it on and it will fit like a glove. i got mine for like 600 and some change after shipping.

I have a 07 with 3.0 pitch 162 7 tooth avids clears just fine the tightest spot is the upper ideler wheels. I went with ice age 162 rails and two wheel kit. vanamberge tunnel extention to.

Don't know if you have your answer or not. But no not unless you go to a smaller driver. The 2.5 requires 7 tooth to fit the rev unless D&R or extended CC.
