connecting rod question?

While replacing the top end on my 05 rev 800 i noticed the connecting rods had a small amount of play from side to side. Is this normal, or should there not be any play? The previous owner said the whole motor had 500 miles on it so it shouldn't be worn out yet. Any pointers would be appreciated. This is my first top end on a two stroke. Also, what replacement pistons should I use? Single ring like stock, or a dual ring aftermarket?

Connecting Rod big end play: New parts .015 to.029" using a feeler guage between the rod and the crank. Wear limit - .047"
Nothing wrong with the stock piston for that motor. You will get opinions different on that one! Trygstad says stock - good enough for me!
Important to get the right thickness base gasket to maintain correct deck height.
