condensation inside intercooler???? Apex

New to the boost world, not sure if this is a common problem but I know I dont like it.

Its been about 3 weeks since I rode the sled. I live at 1,000 ft and ride at 10,000 ft. Trailered in an enclosed trailer and stored at 65* in my shop.

Last night I had to work on the steering linkage so the intercooler had to come off. I was shocked at how much water (condensation) was sitting in each throttle body. It was already starting to corrode on the throttle plates.

Not sure if this makes any difference but the last ride out I broke the bolt in the chaincase that holds the lower gear on. Got towed out about 15 miles and the sled has not been started since.

Thanks for any help. Eric

Where is your intake for Turbo? Maybe from the snowdust while being towed? Do you have a prefilter on your intake? I have never had an issue of moisture in the intercooler but I have a prefilter over intake.

I think getting towed and then sitting in a warm shop is the culprit. Getting towed seems to put snow everywhere in the engine compartment.

Its a SC'er. Intake is under the hood and it has a prefilter on it. I did get towed out but never got blasted with snow. Off trail we used a bunjie and short rope so I was about 20ft away from the tow sled. Once we got on the trail we used a longer rope and I was 50+ft away. Eric

This is something seen on BOATS with Air to Water intercoolers.

You can drill a SMALL hole on the bottom corner and connect a tiny valve.

Run up the engine, create boost, open the tiny valve, blow out all the condensation,

Just guessing here with a Sled, but the best way to AVOID this would be normal operation of the Supercharger and a normal cooldown period.
