Comp Turbo oil less turbos

hmmmm.. looks like an aero. that can actualy flow some air. might have to dig a little more as there specs are hard to compare to anything at the moment.

yeah, just checking around it seems like they are a rather reputable company. the turbo's arent terribly bad priced for what they are. its like a bit less then the cost of an aero... but much better sizing options for moving some real air.

also, there sizing is mostly in the whole t3/t4 stuff which i dont understant at ALL so i have no idea how to compare sizing.

No you still need to do some things the turbo to make it flow good, and add the right size piping and muffler, other wise your just wasting your time and $.

A 5000 datalogger and a dyno will get you there.

They are very nice turbos though.

Thanks
Justin

I really wanna pull the trigger on a sliber kit, seems they have switched to this unit. Anyone have any real world experience with this turbo?

Yes we have tried on and had very good luck so far I think that will at turbo performance will have a options for kits with these turbos.

I just put one of these on my Turbo XP. Comp was awesome to work with. They responded to emails and are only about $200 more than a garrett. I told them I wanted a 2871 and they matched it perfectly. The only goofy thing is that they mainly set their turbos up for external wastgates. They built me a custom one with an adapter for the 5 bolt internal garrett wastegate outlet, but it made the turbo about 1" longer. Not a big deal but in an XP it makes for some pretty tight fitting.

Also if you suck a piston through it they build their own shafts and turbine wheels so if you trash one you can send your center section to them and they can replace just the shaft and wheel vs having to buy and entire new center section on a garrett.

I used a couple last year. Very nice turbo, but expensive. Plan on about $2000 for the ceramic bearing oil less turbo retail without any options (like billet comp. wheel, stainless steel turbine housing). You can get the turbo non oil less for a little less than a Garrett if you want. Not having to deal with oil lines, pumps and tanks is awesome!
